Arrow No Monthly Charge Pt. Dues

I will start off with this, the flames from the lovers of the game were expected(the teens who will die if they cant play all day and are burning out video cards as you read this). Its a fact a(an) no monthly fee MMO attracts the younger gamers. It was, as this post is, an offering of my opinion. Don't think your tough posting insults online..please dont kid yourself or try and make up for short comings in your own life.

__________________________________________________ _______________
Now if you were effected by the previous post in any way i appologize, and also for not responding. Been working round-the-clock.(yes were all not 12 and still attending school)

As I already stated its KNOWN you dont have to buy the expansions, but the content is lacking IMO. Prof took me 1-2 months to complete fully, playing at most 2 hours a day. Factions... 3 days at around 5 hours a day. As a player of MMO's...this is an incredibly short game. That was my point. (this makes the need for an expansion in a few months, doesnt it ?)

The cost for the content dont add up to me. Not enough there for the cash, ya its cool that its free. Though GW is a good game its awsome to revolutionize a new type of game and have it succeed. More power to the creaters.

*Looking for creative comments, not thoughtless children uping post counts, and uncreative bashing of someone.
__________________________________________________ _____________
To those who didnt flame thanks for your open opinions, I see where your coming from, and understand better. Just got a question for true players of MMO's or "MMORPG" games, how long if ever did it take you to beat a previous game online? Please post: rough amount of time played, if beaten and name of game. I will try to get back to post daily but I got two jobs to be at, thus im not around very often but will try to comment back to those who offer some thoughtful insight.
thanks ppl -=ill

Refresh my memory. Was a previous thread of yours with same content closed?

Just asking because if you want to get banned one sure way is to keep trying to open threads that the mods have seen fit to close.

Peace

I believe it was the thread with a loot of flame about the news, that ANet is going to make expansions that cost the price of a full game :gasp:

First of all, GW isn't a MMO, it's a CORPG, it doesn't really claim to be massive, and it isn't massive after all.

It isn't intended to please the grindhamsters that farm to level 300, get kazillion gold and raid/farm some unique lowlow droprate poo. If you like those games, hop to Everquest/WoW/Anarchy Online/whatever there is.

Two months to complete a game is pretty darned good. You do have to stop looking at Guild Wars as a MMOG, better to approach it as an evolved version of Diablo. Considering you paid as much for Diablo as you did Guild Wars when it first came out, you have far more game here.

You are correct, though, in saying that no monthly fee attracts a younger player base. Just look at some of the nitwit names and behavior on the people who spend all day in town and it instantly brings to mind a free unmoderated chatroom. This detracts from the game for me, but as soon as I leave town, they cease to exist.

so you are saying that you completed everything in Factions in about 15hours? Slow down and enjoy the game. Sounds like you just rushed thru to get to the end.

I've completed the game twice, but i havent done all the quests. I still need to explore a few more areas. In my mind, I am not done with this chapter yet. There is still alot for me to do.

Deux, not dues.

Also Kaguya pretty much summed up the issue and ended the thread.

Wait, now we have to pay dues instead of monthly fees?

*repeat all of other thread*

Im sorry...but the point was made and many people think there is more than enough content and replayablity to justify $50 a piece. Thats why they said it.

Not even delving into the fact that GW isnt an MMORPG...its a CORPG.

Why exactly do you want a monthly fee? or what exactly is your point?

Have you tried PvP? This game certainly isn't just about PvE, never has been.

If you want a respectful answer, you should ask questions in a respectful manner. I think the counterpoint was made very well in your other thread.

I average about 1 hour and some change a day in GW. I only have 1 character who has ascended in Prophecies, haven't hardly made a dent in Factions yet. My one ascended char did so during Wintersday. I've been playing since Prophecies released, earlier if you count E34E and the beta weekends.

You cleared Factions in 15 hours? I've put in that much time just hanging out on the starter island. I haven't even left the island yet. I imagine it's going to be some months before I finish Factions for the first time. Guess I'm taking the scenic route.

For what it's worth, I'm 31 and also have 2 jobs. You might want to stay away from generalizations. Makes you look like the 12-year-olds you take us for.

So you might want to reply by stating your questions more clearly...I'm having a hard time picking out what you are asking from between the numerous insults.

So, by posting here you expect to get a refund for Factions??
You didn't like it, get over it. There are plenty of game I bought and then disliked. If you thik anet will see this post and send you $50, think again.

As the kind of idiotic schoolboy the OP so vehemently hates, I have to say the lure of those shiny greens at the end made me rush the game - without them, I would have explored and possibly enjoyed myself, as I did with prophecies (back when greens didnt even exist).
But in prophecies I had less idea how to play, so I guess when you know something inside out, expansions of it just seem same-ey.

Well, I'm 59 (no joke) and been gaming since day one. Have kids 34, 32, and 19, a grandson 15, and a couple of family friends in the game. We don't always have a lot of time to get together, since they all have their own lives, but really enjoy it when we do.
None of us have even completed Prophesies, and I've been playing since beta. Two of us have Factions so far. Just enjoy getting together when we can, without a monthly fee to worry about.
Sure, the game could use some improvement here and there, but it's been money well spent as far as we are concerned. I finished F.E.A.R. in two weeks, taking it easy. Now there's forty bucks shot to hell.

You're bringing up an issue that is only based on your opinion, we understand that and it was also an argument, so players who disagreed with your opinion responded. But, if you do not desire flames being set upon you in the thread, I suggest you do not offend anyone with your post in the first place.
